The very first photographs I took of Be Bop Deluxe, I think at Sheffield City Hall, Modern Music tour, were taken using an instamatic type camera, with flash cubes. I'm not sure how, but I actually managed to get some really quite good shots, decent exposures, quite sharp, nice colours and detail. I had two or three enlarged at the time, to 12"x12", if memory serves, including a couple of really nice head shots of Bill. I will have to fish these out, stashed with other memorabilia in the loft. No one outside of my family and a couple of friends has seen these photographs in over 48 years. Maybe one day I'll scan them and post a couple on this site.

👍...A very similar way of speaking, to Bill Nelson, sounds very similar. I think Bill's northern accent is a tad stronger, but if you close your eyes, it could almost be Bill talking. I always thought Bill Nelson and John Foxx would have worked fantastically well together, specifically on some form of ambient project. Who knows?, but in my mind, it could possibly be an almost perfect pairing....Yes, I'd love to see an album release from those two, at some point in the future..😎.....There was talk of a collaboration, after their Brighton Pavilion performance together, in 2005...19 years ago now, so looks likely not to happen, sadly.

Love the cover design/art, which I presume is by Foxx? Thinking of getting this.

The Last Lamplighter is one of my favourite Bill Nelson releases and I've listened to it many times since it's release...I'm sure it's a download only release though, I know that's how I bought it. Man, it's so sad to see iconic buildings and architecture destroyed. Even the ones nowhere near the magnitude of this, the ones on our local cities and towns. Lots near us, over the years, great buildings and certainly part of local history and heritage, gone forever. It would seem local councils etc, take a very indifferent stance, as to their fate = just delete it. It's a powerful photograph. Also one that could easily deceive the viewer. It could be mistaken for a photograph of construction, not destruction, the site is that neat and tidy. Shame it's gone.
