Exciting news: Richard Jobson (Skids, Armoury Show) has released a book entitled "Days in Europa," which chronicles the Skids' second LP (entitled, of course, "Days in Europa"). The album was produced by Bill, so, presumably, he should be front-and-centre. My copy has been ordered but I haven't received it yet, so I can't confirm that but it seems logical. For people in the group who are interested in buying a copy, you can PayPal Richard at jobbo@me.com The book costs £15 for people residing in the United Kingdom, and £15 + £5 for those in Europe, USA and (presumably) everywhere else.

While in the bookstore the other day I stumbled across Allan Jones' "Can't Stand Up for Falling Down: Rock n' Roll War Stories." This could well be news to no one in the group, but there is a (brief) chapter devoted to Be Bop Deluxe entitled "Be Bop Deluxe: Shrewsbury, 1976." Apologies if this is all-too-familiar ground for everyone.

Via the most recent Discogs newsletter. For me, what will always be nearest and dearest to my heart is the white vinyl release of "Drastic Plastic" back in the day: https://www.discogs.com/digs/collecting/unique-vinyl-records/

Apologies if this discussion topic has been raisd before. In my quest to have a complete Be Bop Deluxe boxset collection, I have become frustrated upon realizing that the "Sunburst Finish" box is rarer than hen's teeth. Whereas the oher boxes are all moderately easy to find (although some of the prices being asked for some of the titles require creating a second mortgage), "Sunburst Finish" is really difficult to track down. My questions: (1) does anyome know why this title is so rare whereas the other titles are not?, (2) does anyone have a copy they would be willing to part with for a price that won't make my wallet bleed? and (3) is anyone aware of perhaps some small, independent record store that might have a copy that has been serving no other purpose than collecting dust the past few years? Any insight the group can provide would be welcome!

Wanted to update the Forum regarding my request seeking help from a Netherlands resident. I am happy to report that someone has stepped up and we are in the process of getting our ducks in a row. Yet another example of what a wonderful group of people Bill Nelson's fans are! Although I'm sure we all like "Ships in the Night," we aren't ships in the night :-)

Hello – it's David here in Canada... hoping that someone living in the Netherlands will see this post, read this post, and be kind enough to lend a hand. Long story short = I am collecting John Entwistle's (the late bass player of The Who) solo catalogue, and I am down to only missing one ("Too Late the Hero"). It is hard to find, and inevitably over-priced. However, I did track a copy down from a record store in Maastrich. The problem is that the store does not mail albums outside of the Netherlands. Talk about frustrating! However, the store is (1) very willing to mail albums within the Netherlands or (2) welcomes people to go to the store to pick it up in person. Is there anyone who would be willing to either have the album mailed to their Netherlands address and then forward it to me, or, if living in Maastrich, to pick it up personally? Ultimately, to send the package to me in Canada. Of course, I will reimburse all expenses (by PayPal, if that's O.K.). Much appreciated, in advance... David
