As the General Election exit polls reveal, it looks like the morally obnoxious and cynically lying leader of the Tory party is set to gain a majority of the votes in the latest General Election, dooming us all to yet another five years of pathetic Conservative government, trampling down the so-called 'working classes' and paving the way for the extremely wealthy to carve an even greater divide between the 'have nots' and 'have lots.' This tragic and divisive election seems to have been fought purely on the naive and, to be perfectly blunt, ignorant topic off 'Brexit'. (The dumbest move this country has ever attempted to inflict on itself.)
The election has not been about real political policies or any concerns about the well being of ordinary people. Sadly, we so-called 'ordinary people' will eventually find out that we have shot ourselves in the foot. A big mistake and the repercussions of our error will come to haunt our lives for the next five years. We now must reap what we have sown...This is truly a mirror image of the mindless Trump ignorance in America. Shame on us...
More commentary on the official confirmation of what Bill and others were saying back in 2019. Not recommended for those sympathetic to Boris, as Pie doesn't hold back:
Bill nailed it in his 2019 post. But even as late as 2021, an MP was thrown out of parliament for calling Johnson a liar. Not today though. Check out the speech from the Shadow leader of the House (MP for Bristol West).
Some pretty strong stuff also from the BBC & Sky News.
And on that Trump mirror-image:
Anyone who wishes to emigrate to Scotland Pls contact the SNP. A spare motorhome (mint condition) will shortly be up for sale. Currently outside the ex/presidents mothers house.
The end of Bozo, or will he return like a bad case of the Clap? Kudos to those in the (non-political) public realm who put their necks on the line to speak out against these clowns.
For me the Senior figures in both the Tory and Labour Parties are truly ghastly. Both think nothing of lies and half truths. Just check out their promises, manifesto's and statements on Fullfact (an independent fact checking site). And the Libs arent much better.
I cannot understand how anyone would vote for either party. Johnson/Gove/Reece Mogg? or Corbyn/McConnell/Abbott? what a dreadful choice.
What was most telling was ex Tories/Labour politicians suggesting persons vote for someone else. Cannot recall that ever happening before.
Like em or loathe em I miss the political heavyweights of the 70's/80's. Whether or not you agreed with them they at least appeared to have intelligence and were not simply after a vote.
Brian Eno the day before the election sent this rather cheeky singalong ...
Sometimes, I've noted, that "Chuck" has something in mind, and it is what it is, and there's noting we can do about it.
Oh, a new trend I heard on two news programs today, the undermining/dismantling of democracies is underway in many areas of the world. And like climate change, the prediction is for increases of the processes to further weaken democracies. Welcome to the preamble of the "Shoes of the Fisherman" or "1948" or "Thunderdome" or Bladerunner and sequel, etc.
The governments wants you to believe the world is the above. I for one just don't like my pulse being taken for social status/economic reasons....or even worse medical reasons (life, illness, death), etc. TiC (Toungue in Cheek)
Lancelot and Guinevere must be shedding it again! I hope I can find a tree to wait it out within... ToC (humorist twist on TiC)
And with that, and my evening medications, I'm boarding with Little Nemo or the KLF (whichever is offering the best paradise destination)!
LOL (Lots of ?Love?) or LOH (Lots of Humor) - you decide.
My I do "Ramble On" - No prize if you know the reference.
"Here Comes the Sun" - takes on a rather sinister shade in these days of global warming. "Copyright, Copyright" - Beatles Christmas Greeting.
Since there's a song about the Magic Bus, shouldn't there be a song about the Magic Internet? That's a Never Know Question.....
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……..I'm REMing typing again!
Next Bozo catch phrase (to be regurgitated by Daily Whail, Torygraph, Fox News, etc)
Brexit Macht Frei
...
New Orleans was disabled today by ransomware.
As already posted by Jim in a previous thread, Johnathan Pie sums up the reality of the last 9 years of Tory rule...and that targeted and sustained brutality is now set to continue for at least another five years..a genuinely frightening prospect.. so you can fear for your future even more now.
'Tourist is typing' .... never noticed such a notification here before.
The left-leaning political parties in UK and US as well as in France and Germany and elsewhere at some point (in my opinion in the ‘60s but maybe in earnest in the ‘80s or ‘90s) lost the ability to communicate with “the Blue-Collar Northerners” and their equivalents in various places so the other side, the right-leaning political parties, gradually learned how to communicate to the non-billionaires and non-millionaires. When the Blue-Collar Northerners decide the Tories are the rip-off operation they’ve always been (Tory is an old-time word meaning ‘thief’ after all) they’ll swing back.
Astutely summed up by Bill.
including quote "A big mistake and the repercussions of our error will come to haunt our lives for the next five years."...…...Yes, and way beyond.
"Shame on us"... Unbelievable, isn't it?
I almost give up...What's the point of trying to be rational with situations (and their ultimate consequences) like this, anymore?....you may as well just stand there, pissing in the wind...Excuse the crudity, but warranted.
I'm thinking of moving to Scotland...
It's the start of the break-up of the Union. Scotland will go first, then Northern Ireland will unify with the Irish Republic... Hell, why not?... Independence for London!
The turkeys have voted for Christmas. The very people who will NOT benefit from either Brexit or a Johnson government have voted for both. No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the English electorate.
Friday 13th, indeed...
Switched on the BBC a few minutes ago -- taking a break from the [I wish they weren't so] very boring impeachment hearings -- and the first thing I heard was someone saying, 'It looks like the end of your kind of Tory Party, one that was pro-EU, more Southern, etc. to one that is more Northern, more Blue Collar and essentially the Brexit Party.'
