OK, let's see if anyone can beat this. I went down to my local Sainsbury's this morning and the queue went out of the car park, along the main road, down the next side street and round the corner into the next road.
Total queuing time: 2 hrs 25 mins!
Still, I did get pretty much everything I needed and there was no queue at the checkout.
I'm not kidding, Asda do a great bag of frozen berries for a couple of quid and mixed with Greek yoghurt = delicious breakfast!
there are 4 supermarkets on one road all within walking distance here so if one is busy there is always another, there is even a nice park between them so in this weather I'm happy to exercise there and then go and get my booze!
I wouldn't queue to go into a supermarket if my life depended on it, saying that folks were well behaved in Northampton today - the queue did go on a bit more than is in the pic so I'll get my vodka & fruit later!
I went out to do a food shop on Thursday (2 weeks since our previous shop).
We live in a village (quite a large one) and there are 2 'supermarkets', Heron and the CO-OP...One in/one out at Heron, with around 15-20 people in store, and I walked straight in, no queueing...went to the CO-OP as well (also to get an elderly lady who lives near us some food items) and was queueing for only around 5 minutes to get in.
One thing I noticed on this trip though, was that things seemed a bit edgy...the atmosphere seemed edgy, in comparison to the last shopping trip.
Here in Kansas City, some grocers are only allowing 40 into the store at one time. Everyone else need to wait.

I thought my one-and-a-half hours in the rain, around-the-block queue for Trader Joe’s was a record. 😮
