Ahhh Starcastle. We saw them open for Boston back in 1977 at the Cow Palace. I had that first album. Heavy ' Yes' influence without the heaviness. They would have seemed very light with Trower and Rundgren on the bill.
I sure do. I was at this show (Winterland SF). I have seen him maybe 6 or 8 times thru the years. Always great. The last time was in the small hall at the Paradiso in Amsterdam. I think that it was 2005. It was an excellent show. His last show here was cancelled because he had some health issues. I was really looking forward to seeing him again.
The full Winterland show is here.
(Look like this is available as a downloadable mp3 bootleg. I will let you know how it is.)
Another Trower show that I attended is this one at New George's in San Rafael.
There is a great bootleg of this one too. It was a radio broadcast.
Last saw him in 1978 in Tampa. Robin was headlining. The lead-on was Todd Rundgrenโs Utopia and the group Starcastle.
.
Great grooves and unique solos. Thanks for posting. ๐โญ๏ธ๐๐๐โจ
