Throw in the climate change catastrophe (something we've know about for years), decimation of rainforests, extinction of species etc etc etc...and the planet as a whole has probably already tipped into an irreversible decline...an unstoppable destruction...after all, humans do like to kill and destroy, we've been doing it for a long time now and have become very accomplished at it...then, when it's all too late to do anything meaningful about it, we talk about doing something about it..genius.
