in the last month I have seen Bryan Ferry (77) John Cale (80) and Bob Dylan (81) So I fully expect that we will have a Nelsonica in 2023 with Bill still being a relative youngster. (I do appreciate Bill does have his health issues but I think it would be good for the whole Nelson community in these dreadful evil right wing days to have something to look forward to.)

🤔 Maybe a moderator can move this thread to 'World Outside The Window' and re-title it "Labour Voters vs Conservative Voters - Bundle!!!" 😂😉
That way, everyone can have their say and nothing need be deleted, unless someone became really nasty, of course 🙄
Sorry for teh late post ..away seeing Bill Callahan tonight ..pretty wonderful. However as i started this thread i will make one more comment due to some of the posts that have appeared . originally i traded a couple of posts with orphan and i realised it was going off track and the posts would be deleted ..since then i notice orphan has reposted a deleted post ..which wasn't funny the first time he posted it ..but there you go..I make no apology for the original post ..bill and his music are the antithesis of this evil govt. if ever we needed that hope for a better world.. which bill's music represents to me ..it is now. The daily mail induced "woke" comments and insulting and misrepresenting people who care for each other needs a reply .. we are into our 13th year of a conservative govt ( yes so its all labours fault !!)..the last 5 being particularly right wing and evil ..a criminal corrupt lying heartless evil govt causing death and misery to tens of thousands of uk citizens ..as well as destroying our country .. they need called out at every turn ..and to be honest the views of anyone who voted for them especially in 2019 and voted for brexit are worthless .luckily here in scotland the right wing media holds less power ..and we will hopefully be able to escape , but i genuinely feel for every decent human being who lives in england.. i wont reply to any other comments on this thread (and feel free to delete it mods..but i wanted to make my position clear)..I will instead look forward to bill being persuaded to lift all our spirits by organising some type of event next year ..oh and release another good few new albums. Cheers
Starmer = socialism
extreme left-wing = do tell
reading a headline or believing what the media tell you to think doesn't make you informed.
as some of the posts here confirm
The thought of another Nelsonica live event is a very nice thought indeed..I do hope so, but who knows?..we will see and I will keep my fingers crossed.
But why on earth did you choose to politicize your post/this topic/the event, by dragging your view of "dreadful evil right wing days" into it, jostmo?
You will, no doubt, answer my question by pointing out the current government, etc..but what's that got to do with a possible Nelsonica and people who would attend and them having a nice time?..I would have thought your own political thoughts and, indeed, politics in general, would be best left out of anything Bill Nelson related, i.e. on a professional level of music releases and live-performance....and, don't forget, seeing as we are mentioning politics, there is an equally dreadful extreme left-wing ideology in full motion right now, which can't be denied, which was initially insidious in it's approach and deployment, but has now become much more invidious and threatening in nature...just to redress the balance.
...extreme left, extreme right = they both suck.
I believe that i had proposed a virtual Nelsonica with various folks dropping by the house for chat and a solo tune or two. Kind of like a podcast / live cast. Slide show by Martin.
Though I suspect my political views are similar to Jostmo's, it's got to the stage in the UK where the particular political wing of our government doesn't really matter so much. We just have a government of genuinely bad people trying to do dreadful things and even getting those wrong in a way that makes bad things worse. This isn't even politics: it's more like simple, selfish incompetence.
