Times have certainly changed and I'm not being prudish. however, when I was growing up Pop music for essentially kids, teenagers , young adults largely avoided references to drugs. If they did at all ,they were pretty much hidden. I do worry that so many artists these days, who are such strong role models to our kids, make such strong references. I happened to be on youtube last night and a Zara Larsson song came on and it made reference to the fact she didn't at that point in time have any "chemicals" in her body, implying it was quite unusual for her to be in that state, in other words a normal night for Zara was being high on something. She , I would have thought, is a strong role model for kids, teens etc. What sort of example does that set ! This is just one example, there are many more from the likes of Halsey, Miley Cyrus etc

People make music whilst taking drugs - with the odd discreet reference.....fair enough....we have many past examples of that - too many to perhaps mention - but I'll mention Station To Station as a fair example.
But to overtly endorse or promote drugs as a song's theme is so crass and vulgar....shows a marked lack of creativity as far as I'm concerned.....
