Ginger Baker, one of the most brilliant, versatile and turbulent drummers in the history of British music, has died aged 80.
His family had previously made it public that he was critically ill and asked fans to “please keep him in your prayers”. His Facebook page said he “passed away peacefully” on Sunday morning.

Was watching this the other day, a long interview with his daughter, Nettie Baker ... https://youtu.be/LG98MZ7t4JQ
Great photo’. I always wonder about passing away peacefully and hope it’s true. The way many of us perceived Ginger Baker I would imagine him in his angry-guy/stubborn-guy/tough-guy mode with that fed-up scowl when hearing or reading the famous poem by Dylan Thomas, Do not go gentle into that good night. A unique character and I’d fantasized a few times about him creating more music with John Lydon ... and John Lennon as well.
