Killing Joke was one of those bands I never had the opportunity to see live, much to my regret. I jumped on right from the get-go with their debut album. What a knock-out.
So very sorry to hear of Geordie Walker’s passing.
So sad...I don't know for sure, but I must have seen Killing Joke live over 50 times and have the vast majority of all their releases. They were a very influential band for me and my friends/band members, and we got in on the Wardance/Psyche single in 1980, which was one of those defining moments. I was hooked from that point.
They have a fantastic catalogue of music and Geordie's playing was central to their uniue sound, indeed, his playing was unique, and glorious...
TBH, I think this probably signals the end of the line, for Killing Joke...I don't know...Jaz is very stubborn, and his life is Killing Joke and the journey and experiences that KJ facilitated, so we will see. But I could see Jaz leaving it there with KJ, and return to pursuing his various solo projects and ventures.
R.I.P Geordie Walker.
BTW, if you think you know what Killing Joke is all about, you'd better watch this.
Essential.

Really shocked about this. Much of the soundtrack of my life. RIP.
