62...not there for awhile, myself. But the years are creeping up on me too. I love David Sylvian's music and was drawn to it in my early teens. How totally awesome it was to hear Bill's guitar on 'Gone To Earth' and then later on some Rain Tree Crow cuts. But then Mick Karn and his rad bassline on 'Glow World'...the Yukihiro drum patterns? Aw, they were buddies...I can dig it!
Interesting points and regarding that number reversal, every time I think of Brilliant Trees nowadays inevitably this bit of recording process on it that Steve captured at the time I want to check out again ...
It's all too easy to say 'one of my favourite' musicians/artists etc, etc...we all do it, and ofc, comments like that always hold some degree of validity and genuine warmth for that particular individual, or band.
However, David Sylvian is an absolute favourite, right up there with Bill Nelson for me and is definitely in my top 5 musicians and artists of all-time...he's always there, as is Bill, figuring somewhere in the mix of colours in my own musical tapestry.
Now we're all knocking on the door of 60 and beyond..how quickly it seemed to go.....
Interestingly, David is 62 today. If you reverse these numbers, you get David at 26 years old, which takes us back to 1984, and the momentous year he released his debut, and indeed seminal, solo album "BrilliantTrees", an absolute masterpiece...(now itself 36 years old, in June).
Bastard is younger than I am…

From 26 (and in a 'flip') to 62.
