One of my favorite BB moments was at a Bill Frisell concert in 2006. The band came out and played a very scary and angular rendition of Dylan's 'Masters of War' that segued into BBs 'What The World Needs Now' ...some may raise an eyebrow but it sure worked in that context. Really brilliant stuff from Bill and band.
What you both said....Lots of great Burt Bacharach music playing in our home in the 60s/70s, both as Mum and Dad's records and on the radio, or, wireless, if you prefer..😉
For a lot of us of a certain age, he was a big part of the soundtrack of our youth. That old transistor radio that you hid under your pillow played a lot of his tunes. RIP.
Too many sad passings lately and t'is true to say that Burt was a stunningly good songwriter 😏😎
