Watching the Brooklyn rally. Feel the Bern. Whoa, his campaign song is Power to the People [John Lennon Plastic Ono Band] ? I just remembered that time a bird crashed a Bernie rally let alone a Beatle.
I don't see Bernie as extreme left by any stretch of the imagination, I see him more as normal :) He was royally screwed over by the DNC and $Hillary which was a disgrace. I feel like provided they knock that stuff off and just let him run he will prevail but the problem is that there are a lot of Democrats who are threatened by him. He wants to end their gravy train of free money, stop the corruption of bribery (corporate donations) and we can't have that can we ?! It would mean that politicians may actually have to represent their constituencies !
He's up against a huge machine who are all in on this including the media companies and they will do everything they can to stop him, they have started already.
He has my vote, I flat out refuse to vote for anyone on the corporate pay roll and I am sure there are millions out there who feel just like me.
Was having thoughts similar to yours, Andre, not but a few minutes ago. Teeth, jaws, please relax. Thank you.
They say only Joe Biden can talk like DJT talks and would therefore be the only effective Democrat in debates with DJT. Maybe that’s true.
Joe certainly wouldn’t be perceived as a woman with a shrill-yet-monotone voice who appears to be nagging yet speaking in a condescending legalese, like Hillary Clinton appeared to be, but Joe has been around forever and has run for pres before and so maybe that’s going to be perceived too much baggage, what to speak of the fact that Joe was Obama’s veep.
Lifelong Democrat DJT during his campaign a couple of years ago promised to destroy or burn to the ground the Republican Psrty. Watching the Michael Cohen hearing the day before yesterday it appears he’s done it.
Don’t think the US would ever be a socialist country.
Bernie seems like a prof to me more than a pres. Alexandria seems like a spirited student leader at CAL.
US needs some socialistic basics like healthcare and education. It’s difficult to justify taxes, etc. without those two basics.
Bernie linked his own name to Socialism, calling himself a Democratic Socialist. It was a daring move and he got big numbers of people interested in participating, despite getting absolutely no support from the mainstream media outlets nor the Democratic Party.
Bernie got absolutely no support from the DNC in 2016 and got no support from CNN and MSNBC in 2016. Seemed like a conspiracy against him. I hear he's the front runner at the moment but who knows? That dreaded s-word.
As far as I can remember Bernie started the "Medicare for all" phrase, a phrase I like, and it's a phrase that’s caught on, like among my favourite candidates, Kamala Harris and Tulsi Gabbard but all of the candidates should use it.
Angry heterosexual white men in the Rust Belt, the South and the Midwest and everywhere else in the USA can relate to Medicare for all and they want Medicare for all, obviously, just as much as who they consider aliens (everyone who isn’t an angry heterosexual white man) want it.
It's always a shock to see Debbie Wasserman Schultz, as I did during the open (televised) Michael Cohen hearings. Guess I'm still not her biggest fan. Was less shocking when I saw the recaps. She actually asked worthwhile things. I still blame her for DJT, I guess.
Interesting. Bernie was kicked out of a hippie commune in 1971 because he didn't want to work!
On the ‘Today Show’ in 1981 ...

Trump just called the Democrats "The Anti-Jewish Party" so congrats, gettingonthebeam, on four more years [if not more!] of your guy.
Nice to see Bernie at it again. The gift that keeps on giving!

... and, please no more PACs [public action committees].
... and more exposure of these godawful club meetings of the mega-rich, please, for it seems to me that when one-time hero of the Democrats [and others], John Kerry, cracks jokes at the Alfalfa Club Dinner about how many big homes he and Mitt Romney have in various US states, well, I must say that it tends to make our politics look like a Punch and Judy show for provincials.
... and, good heavens, we wouldn't want that, would we?
My cummerbund is officially askew.
... or as William S. Burroughs [while living at Empress Hotel, London 1960-1961], once phrased it, "Don't let them see us, don't tell them what we are doing' ... are these the words of the all-powerful boards and syndicates of the earth?"
I agree. Less $$$$ devoted to military might and more to public health and education. Does
not sound socialist to me.
I was sort of impressed by Amy Clobuchar. I think it is about time a woman was in charge !

The dreaded s-word need not be used.
I am starting to get the impression that between far left and moderate democrats
they will end up handing 2020 to Trump. They should settle somewhere in the
middle, lean to the left and allow the Bernies and Ocacios-Cortez’s to drag them
further left from time to time. I have always liked Bernie Sanders. He is great
communicator and I believe he’s a good man. But the talk of socialism tends to
worry me. Hugo Chavez was a socialist and great communicator too. There is no comparison
I know, however socialism is proven to not work. It just leads countries to economic
and moral bankruptcy…..that sort of reminds me of DJT come to think of it….guess
you don't have to be a socialist to morally bankrupt a nation...

Sadly we can blame almost 50% of those who bothered to vote for DJT.......
Bernie's name gets linked with the word socialism which is why America won't have him.
