I saw Yes, with Alan White, in '76 & '77. I remember him smiling the entire time he played.

He filled possibly the biggest prog drummer's shoes in Bill Bruford and made the role of Yes drummer his own.
We saw him several times with Yes. Great drummer. He had a great career and played with many of the biggest artists of the time. RIP
For some reason for the past several years, when I’ve read the name Alan White, I think of him in the ‘Gimme Some Truth’ documentary, specifically the moment when he said, “The cans” referring to the headphones he was wearing. I guess the full sentence had to do with needing the volume louder. Another artist of renown leaves us.
