Tony Goes to Tokyo... is probably my most played piece of Bill's music. Whilst listening the other day to the sparkled up version on Transcorder, I remembered something I read about the song, (in Sounds?), way back when it was first released. If I remember correctly, it was written about Tony Mitchell visiting Japan at around that time. Was Tony the writer for Sounds that always gave Bill's music a glowing report, and have I remembered the origins of the song correctly?

Talking Tony in Tokyo
Does anyone have any information about Time and Place (Live) by Yukihiro Takahashi 1984 as I know Bill plays guitar on it? Was this a one off concert and was Bill living in Japan for a while as he guested on 2 earlier Takahashi albums also and how does this all tie in with the YMO?
All a long time ago but a part of Bill's career I do not know much about.
Bill. Tony Goes to Tokyo... is a special track for me though. It was the first piece of your music I played to my then girlfriend, now wife on a mix tape I had in my old Austin Allegro; (JDN48N). Because of this it has special meaning. The song has made it on to many of my playlists since its inclusion on that first one so naturally, it gets played a lot. I do of course play lots of your music and a favorite to mention at the moment is The Receiver and The Fountain Pen that seems to be getting a lot of my attention!
Yes, that's correct. But, your most played tune of mine? Gosh, there are so many more tracks worthy of more plays than that! 😉😃
