Apologies if this discussion topic has been raisd before. In my quest to have a complete Be Bop Deluxe boxset collection, I have become frustrated upon realizing that the "Sunburst Finish" box is rarer than hen's teeth. Whereas the oher boxes are all moderately easy to find (although some of the prices being asked for some of the titles require creating a second mortgage), "Sunburst Finish" is really difficult to track down. My questions: (1) does anyome know why this title is so rare whereas the other titles are not?, (2) does anyone have a copy they would be willing to part with for a price that won't make my wallet bleed? and (3) is anyone aware of perhaps some small, independent record store that might have a copy that has been serving no other purpose than collecting dust the past few years? Any insight the group can provide would be welcome!

I would be willing to part with my Axe Victim, Sunburst Finish and/or Futurama boxsets. All are mint. They are just sitting on the shelf. I would have to think about the price. It would be the original price + shipping that I paid + shipping to wherever. Send me a mail if interested.
I personally would never succumb to the scammers who attempt to profit from 'out of stock' albums. For a start, you need to ask yourself if you really need yet another Be Bop Deluxe barrel scrape when you probably already own the original and definitive release from the '70s. Cherry Red own the recordings now and may well re-press the album in the future, who knows? But I know one thing, and that is paying exorbitant prices to eBay crooks and other rip-off merchants is sheer madness. It's a waste of time and money.
There is one available on a French based website..apparently it is in stock in one of their stores and you can order as an online sale to ship. The cost is around £80 for the product.. I have no idea about shipping/import costs, or even if they ship abroad. I presume they will, ofc.
I know nothing about the company concerned, whether it is safe to order from them or anything = if you were to do so, then proceed at your own risk. I certainly wouldn't encourage you to do so, nor would I encourage you to pay £80 for an item that originally cost £50, personally I wouldn't, IMO if you miss it, you miss it..that's just part of the game....But I can sympathise with collectors that want to get hold of rare and OOP stuff.....just don't let yourself get ripped off, or worse.
BTW, it's currently for sale on eBay, for £250...The seller had 3 copies and has already sold two of them...unbelievable.
Cherry red will often repress strong selling items. Axe victim has just been repressed this mth so Sunburst should be next
