Well, I feel sorry for the uncomfortable trials you have to endure. Diabetes and needles in eye don't seem like something to look forward to ( I thought "needles in the eye" was just a nasty expression). Personally, I have 3 types of arthritis -- have struck the jackpot with A-A-A coming up on life's slot machine screen -- and know that pain will be my companion in life from here on in. Some people are more lucky to avoid these things than others. And then the inevitable question of what does it all mean? I think that to be honest, we don't know. We can imagine a life of nonexistence, a sleepless void from which we never wake up... and if that is death, it is welcoming to some people to relieve their conic pain. I think there is something after life, but it is hard to put your finger on exactly what that is -- for some people it could be just a reliving of the highlights of their past life, for others it is in heaven with God. But I believe there is something... ironic that science at one point in history was against religion (Middle Ages onward), but now there is ample scientific evidence of some kind of creator to the universe. Whether that is a personal God is still in question. Good luck on your endeavors.
