Fantastic album, from start to finish! I sometime believe Bill creates these special albums that would make for a movie or a play. Golden Melodies Of Tomorrow, is one of them that delivers that quality.
An essential Bill Nelson release! One that is often on my player, along with Orpheus In Ultraland and Satellite Songs. Also Blip 1 & 2 and Whimsy are my ultimate summertime albums!
This album is an absolute gem. Definitely, a must-have, in my opinion. At the time of its release, I was driving an older car which had a cassette player. When I bought a new album, I would record it onto a cassette to listen to on my commute to and from work. While listening to this album over several days, there was a sound, on a couple of tracks, not unlike static on a vinyl record. At first I thought it was some of Bill's special touches, but it just didn't fit well. I made a copy on a CD-R, and the sound vanished. I realized that the original CD had a glitch that only appeared when I played the CD from certain sources. Even with the glitch, it was a fine album, but listening to it as it was intended to sound, was a pleasure unmatched by most musical artists.
Now, this masterpiece can be downloaded, without the glitches. Personally, I bought another copy of the CD after it went on sale a few years ago.
Thankfully I didn’t and moreover yes it is fabulous.
Released on this day in 2008. If you don’t have it, get over to Bandcamp!

Agree with all of the above - totally essential, enchanted BN album.

One of Bill's finest recordings...timeless.
