Just now heard of the death of Gary Brooker. main man of Procul Harum. Very sad news. Gary was 76, only three years older than myself. I bought two Procul Harum albums when they were first released in the '60s. He was a talented musician whose singing and keyboard playing contributed to the band's timeless hit 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale.'
And so yet another fine musician leaves us. Rest in Peace Gart.
I'd watched this only a few days before . . . [Bill, you might find this interesting] . . .
Now he is a whiter shade of pale. RIP
I was privileged to see him perform at Portsmouth Guildhall in the early 70s .
Unforgetable . RIP Gary
One of the finest singers of his generation- still sounded great right up to the end. Heres a nice clip of Gary performing with a symphony and choir in Denmark a few years back. Looks like everyones having a nice night out at a beautiful outdoor venue. Impeccable performance.
A sad loss- superb musician and composer. Excellent in live performance. We will not see his like again.
RIP Gary
I had not yet heard that news. Very sad indeed.
