I'm not suggesting Bill plays his Be Bop music or mutters a word of his lyrics, (not sure where you got that from) however, that doesn't detract from my feelings that his lyrics are wonderful and to be frank, are probably part of the sound tracks of many people's lives.
I for one, have special places where the lines of Bill's songs come to visit me and remind me of the past. Quite often these are the emotions of youthful love, but they are there non the less. Only today I was walking through an area that will always have memories of an ex girlfriend linked to Futurama and that will be there for all of my life.
This "Nice addition to the Wall" thread was wonderful and it just made me think how nice it would be to have a book of Bill's lyrics to browse through. As I said, I'm not suggesting that Bill reads them out, in the same way I don't expect him to come to my house and play a solo off a Modern Music, but his lyrics are art and would have special meaning, even today.
And remember, writing lyrics to fit the sensual tone and timing of a song limits the options, but Bill has never failed to deliver. If Dylan can get a Nobel Prise for his lyrics being poetry, then in my mind, Bill should get at least the same. Bill's lyrics are breathtaking and worthy of a wider audience.
