Only now discovered that Emitt Rhodes has passed away.
I loved his song 'Live 'Till You Die' and bought the album it came from when it was first released many years ago now. A wonderfully talented singer, instrumentalist and songwriter, sadly overlooked by the media these days but a special talent nonetheless. Rest in peace.

Talented guy. Have a set of his 4 albums. The song ‘Someone Died’ is stunning. One song he wrote was featured in ’The Royal Tenanbaums’...
His material is so charmed in that Paul McCartney elfin way of charmed pop music and maybe in a similar category as Gilbert O'Sullivan.

Here's a sort of 'mini documentary' about Emitt, made in much later life, showing the studio in the garage where he made those early solo albums. Like many of the young musicians from the '60s and 70s, time changes our appearance, (and not much we can do about that,)
Apologies for the links to these posts being long. I don't know how to shorten them and make them work more easily, but if you copy and paste them into your browser, they should take you to the pages I'd like you to see.

Emitt was in a band called 'The Merry Go Round' prior to his solo career. Here's a link to a very blurry tv appearance of the band. I believe he was only 17 when he formed this group.
