Been a while....

Been a while since I last looked in. I'm a little remiss in keeping up with Bill's releases although I still get updates.

Hope everyone is ok - I sadly have had a neurological issue come up. Muscular System Atrophy- Cerebellar whereby I have difficulty in keeping balance and have poor speech. My legs are weak too but others that have this are in worse condition than me. Cognitively I'm ok - memory is good and I've just signed up for clinical trials - although I may get the placebo.

Must have a look to see what posts I've missed.

I have developed a similar condition. Thank you for your post--if it helps a bit - you're not alone. Thank goodness my memory is still there, but I slur and shuffle around the house and dexterity is not good. I'm doing the clinical trial thing...the best thing that I can do now is eat good (the Mind Diet) and take my supplements.

Thanks for the videos. I've seen some parts of them. I'm getting a glimpse of what my older brother (who turned me on to Be Bop Deluxe) experienced when they toured over here in southern California.

I know all about slurring and shuffling.

Spent a bit of time going through Bill's CD's I don't yet have. The 2 still in my download folder are Chameleon and Whistle While The World Turns. Must burn them. I had a listen to Whimsy and Whimsy 2. I do like the songs where Bill has some "narration" on it. The more Ambient sounding ones. As soon as I get up to date with burning will have another look.

Hello Dave, nice to see you make contact here again...Wondered where you might have got to, but lots of old faces around here, seem to have fallen by the wayside.

Sorry to hear about your health issues, and I wish you all the very best on that front, moving forwards, and please try to stay positive and optimistic, as I believe it can really help.

Hope you can find time to post here, now and again, now you've broken the ice again....If my memory serves me right, you're a born and bred Notts lad, like myself, I think I'm right?...and don't you live in the States now?...Anyway, Nottingham has gone down hill this last few years, as have many places, just in case you wondered. Nothing like it used to be...If I've got this Nottingham connection wrong, apologies.

Yes, originally from Notts (well - Hucknall) and I tried to remember who else was from Nottm so thanks for making yourself known. Now living and retired in Spokane, Wa -- was just north of Seattle.

I have purchased a couple of Bill's releases recently, but they are still in my downloads folder. Must look again - I think there was a previous box set released that I like the look of - now available singly.

Oh - and lastly (may set up a separate post for this) - as my coordination is off - at the grand old age of 70 I've bought my first drum kit - an electric one so my neighbors don't get upset with me. May ask if anyone here is experienced in same to seek advice. I'm trying all to slow down the progress - it's a form of Parkinsonism.

Will look more at the forum.
