With apologies if this has been posted before - I have approx. 20 of Bill’s albums from the last 20 years. planning to buy 3 more on Friday. Appreciate that this is subjective, but which 3 albums from this century would you recommend to represent a good spread of Bill’s work?

Because it's so subjective, a fruitless exercise really, as everyone will have different recommendations.
Which three albums did you buy?
My three, to fit your remit, and three of my personal favourites, would have been:
Theatre Of Falling Leaves
The Alchemical Adventures Of Sailor Bill
The Jewel
The Last Lamplighter
..oh, that's four....😁
For vocals and fantastic songs (aren't they all!) I would go to Return To Jazz Of Lights - a joy!.....as Michael says Signals From Realms Of Lights is a superb kind of thematic instrumental, and then And We Fell Into A Dream which has some great examples of Bill's later work, albeit an album from some many years ago now.
Dear me....how to reflect Bill in three albums....impossible!
I always suggest "Signals From Realms of Light". Great guitar work in there. And, oddly enough "Blip! 2". Great mix of instrumental and vocal. My two cents!
To cover a bit of a range of music I would suggest the rockier ‘Joy Through Amplification’, the instrumental ‘Quiet Bells’ and the orchestral ‘Alchemical Adventures of Sailor Bill’... One man, three totally different styles of music. But that just scratches the surface of variety... As has been mentioned, listening to the samples available will generally give you a feel for what type of music to expect.
Also well worth your while going over to the 'Store', link at the top of this page, have a look at the albums there and checking out the audio samples for each album..It will at least give you an idea of each recording and possibly form a starting point.
I would recommend the Dreamers Companion Vol. 1-3. These compilations present Bill rather well. I would also recommend downloading the art and making your own copies. It is superb.
