Haven't found enough time to write a new journal entry but have lots to tell. It will have to wait for a day or two as I'm desperately trying to get the two new albums ready for mastering. 'Stand By: Light Coming...' is, (as I've mentioned previously,) all sorted and ready for John Spence to sprinkle the final fairy dust on at Fairview Studio but the 'overflow' album from these sessions is proving more problematic.
My initial draft running order of 'The Last Lamplighter' didn't sound right and a couple of the tracks were not even making the 'B' list for me, so I've recorded a handful of new songs to replace the ones I've consigned to the rubbish bin forevermore. I'll post the final running order for this album when I come to a final decision but I need to get my skates on.
The mastering session has moved though, (which may actually be a good thing and allow me a little more time.) It was originally scheduled for the 7th of May but has now been moved to the 10th to accommodate John's other duties. Fortuitous perhaps...
So, just one more track to mix an then rejig the sequence of the album to accommodate it and we're there I think. By the way, the new song is titled
We have a piece of work by the Yorkshire artist Bob Barker called “With Ladder and With Lamp”. We’ve met him a couple of times, really nice guy, I’ve wondered if he’d undertake a commission based around “Adventures in a Yorkshire Landscape”?
