The vault of my musical past is yawning open with music and art on display. See what shadows come out of the crypt, and what shades Orpheus brings up from the House in the Underworld.
My first entry from the Underworld Vault is Whale Talk. I'm reposting it because I forgot to mention I used it on my Theatre of Orpheus show and people loved it. Today is also a milestone day in that I've reached over 400,000 views on YouTube. I can't account for its success and never imagined that close to half a million people would see it.
It occurred to me that Bill calling this section of Dreamsville The World and his Wife is kind of appropriate. Why? Because we treat our fondness for music and beauty as if we are married to it first, before our real flesh and blood wife. They are like our wife Eurydice who Orpheus, in the tragic myth, tried to reclaim and bring up from the Underworld. We do the same thing by bringing up shades, or renderings of beauty from the netherworld of our subconscious. We can only bring back artistic images and representations, never the real flesh and blood article.
