When I first got used to having my first home computer...(I can still remember the Internet dial up sounds)...dates me doesn't it.
Well, in those days ... Rooms With Brittle Views, which was the name of Bill's website? had the occasional music challenge for interested musician fans. I looked forward to them and submitted quite a few pieces of music.
Other members who submitted music were John Izzard, Quinault, Peter Brookes, and many more. I submitted my pieces of music under the name of Major Snagg. I still use that name on Soundclick. The Soundclick Web site has changed over the years, as most websites tend to do but it is still a friendly, sensible and great place to put your musical creations.
If you used this in the past and have stopped, please sign in again and while you there, check out mine and other people's home recordings.
May I suggest you listen to Jesus Oldman's huge catalogue of songs or Dollar Bill and The Unmentionables too.
I certainly was one of the protagonists of getting Dreamsville Challenges going. I tried to curate the collections into 80-minute downloadable bites. I salute all of those brave souls who shared their music with the community. It created magic as well as worldwide collaborations.
My intent was to showcase the Dreamsville collective talent. I seem to remember putting Major Snagg w/ Brooksie onto a collection I called Singapore. I want to say that my favorite theme was based on holidays. If it got anybody any radio airplay, then my mission was accomplished. Songs are to be heard. We did Christmas, Halloween, and Valentine's Day. 080808 - Dreamsville Dances were three 80-minutes volumes long!
I don't visit as often as I should. But as mentioned, there are music websites that showcase talented individuals. They all are worth a visit.
