That's weird, I too have followed them since "Phaedra." They had a very interesting series of album covers. I could never really understand what they were up to musically, but just float with them on some kind of opaque ocean. The album had dark moments and I couldn't really relate the album to the Greek myth or tragedy. Yeah, that's too bad about Froese. Normally you don't think of guitar for TD but rather label them as a synth band. I kind of lost interest with them with the album USA. And speaking of Music for Airports, I used to fall asleep with that on my stereo. Those were very cool and interesting times in music. Here is my last entry for spiritual ebow. @Orphan of Babylon No, actually playing around on my Korg sound station. It's got drum sounds and a sequencer built into it with all kinds of sounds from the sound module. I had a crazy amount of sound presets, so to get an idea of how it works, I started programming the sequencer using the preexisting patches or presets. I never got into the programming of a sound by means of an envelope, but I had done that before on my Juno 104 and D-50 keyboards. It was a bugger to learn with a manual like a telephone book. In the end, you end up being just as much a technician as a musician. But it gives you an idea of how much there is to learn and with midi being a whole different separate world. People do it and I give them credit. Some, and they are mostly sound engineers, are able to tailor a sound so that it becomes their signature trademark. Flood was like that with U2 -- he had his own sound. But that wasn't my thing. Here is another piece, dedicated to my cat Ebbie, but with a laid-back Deodato sound -- but I didn't try to copy Deodato, though I had his album in the 70s.

Yeah, I like Tangerine Dream. Ricochet is one of the best albums for me. And one of the guys in Tangerine Dream also plays guitar on it. I used my ebow in this piece. I went through a phase where I really enjoyed the ebow. This piece has a sinister edge, but I have done more uplifting music that also uses the ebow. Some of Bill's more esoteric cathedral exploits used ebow. I also like that spiritual vibe and wrote a tune called “Third Eye” that uses ebow but doesn't give over to the long melody lines. It's a spiritual build to a pop Nirvana that could be heard in stores like the GAP.

If Tangerine Dream's music can be used in movies, I believe my song can be heard in malls across the land. Sublime music to buy with. Say Goodbye to consumer guilt, Hello to self-contained consumer bliss.
